Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King REVIEW

LOTR RK 1The Plot: The last in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, in Return of the Kind we see Aragorn leading the World of Men against Sauron’s army to draw the dark lord’s gaze from Frodo and Sam who are on the doorstep of Mount Doom with the One Ring. With the help of Legolas, Gimli, Theoden, Eomer they fight to death to save Middle-Earth from its penultimate doom. This is film is swamped with extraordinary visuals, dominating audio soundtrack and the epic end to Peter Jacksons adaptation of J.R.R Tolkiens Lord of the Rings novels. This movie is pure class.

The Characters: Although the fellowship is scattered, and one has fallen (Borimir) they all somehow seem to still be dominating unit, the acting by far is the best I have seen in a trilogy like this for some time and perhaps still one of the best movies of all time. The way all the characters adventures and actions intertwine in the movie is excellent, the makeup, stunts and Legolas and Gimi’s death counter really adds subtle comedic value to the film.

Re-Watchability: Probably the best trilogy of its kind. I could defiantly watch this movie over and over again… even if the extended editions are 4 hours long, it’s pure gold!

Audio/Visuals: This film is packed with a range of brilliant landscape shots and epic battle shots, accompanied by a fulfilling soundtrack which is both beefy for the fighting scenes and calming for shots of Rivendale and The Shire.

Hot or Not: HOT

OVERALL RATING: 5/5
